Educational activities

The department offers a diverse curriculum covering various social and humanitarian disciplines. These include Ukrainian language (for professional purposes), history of Ukraine, cultural studies, philosophy, political science, sociology, fundamentals of psychology and pedagogy, foreign language (English), and physical education.

Priority Areas of Educational Activity

The teachers in the department are committed to implementing modern teaching methods that integrate national traditions with European standards, while considering the challenges posed by today's economic and geopolitical transformations. Their primary goal is to instill in students humanistic values, critical thinking, and, most importantly, tolerance for the rich cultural diversity present in our society.
This focus on cultural diversity fosters a sense of inclusivity, humanity, respect for others, self-respect, and human dignity. Additionally, it develops effective communication skills and promotes civilized coexistence in the modern world.
The aim is to nurture fully developed individuals – intellectual specialists capable of defending the principles of national and cultural identity and actively participating in the revival of social values. Students will also engage with the cultural wealth of humanity, exploring the essence of culture as a fundamental aspect of human existence and analyzing the accumulated global knowledge about society and the role of the individual within it.
Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of intellectual pluralism by creating an environment where openness to various scientific approaches is encouraged. Discussion and dialogue will serve as the primary tools for discovering the truth.
The synergy between teaching and research involves coordinating students' scientific work with the objectives of humanitarian education. This approach aims to develop critical thinking, foster innovative solutions to contemporary issues, and broaden students' perspectives.
Such methods contribute to the formation of modern professionals who can effectively address today’s challenges, actively engage in transforming their surroundings, and achieve new levels of success both professionally and personally.
Senior Lecturer of Physical Education, Iryna Smirnova, has dedicated over 20 years to her home department. She and the entire staff have many reasons to feel proud and thankful for our students – both boys and girls – for their trust, support, belief in their abilities, perseverance, and unwavering pursuit of victory. Although our institute does not train professional athletes, our students have consistently moved forward with confidence, prepared to face the challenges posed by even the strongest rivals.
In 1998, we made a strong statement by winning our first futsal competition and securing 1st place. As a reward, we enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Kyiv to watch the Juventus vs. Dynamo «Kyiv» match. This success significantly strengthened the team's spirit.
Over the years, our students have represented the Institute with dignity, achieving recognition in numerous competitions. We want to pay special tribute to our chess players, who continue to find success and educate future grandmasters. Additionally, it's important to highlight the functional all-around competition, where both our boys' and girls' teams demonstrated remarkable unity and determination, ultimately securing a confident victory by taking 1st place. Among our graduates, we have kickboxers, boxers, wrestlers, hockey players, and footballers, as well as exceptional fitness trainers, often referred to as «IRON MEN».
Our students are not only involved in sports but also actively participate in various competitions. These include the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition, the Taras Shevchenko Literary and Language Competition for Pupils and Students, and the All-Ukrainian Olympiads in Ukrainian (for professional purposes) and English, where they consistently win prizes. Notably, in 2018, our student Maria Andreeva received a Presidential Scholarship for winning the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition.
